The 2012 UEFA European Football Championship will be held in Poland and Ukraine from 8 June to 1 July 2012. This is the 14th Euro championships and is only the third one to be jointly hosted by two countries. Euro 2012 qualifiers begin this year and will be held through from September 2010 to November 2011. Euro 2012 will also be the last European Championship to feature just 16 teams as Euro 2016 will have 24 teams competing for the right to be called European Champions. 51 teams will go through the qualifying rounds out of which 14 will join co-hosts Poland and Ukraine at the main championship finals in June 2012.

The Euro 2012 qualification round promises to be an exciting one as European nations have a point to prove having failed to shine at the Word Cup in South Africa. Although Spain went on to be crowned World Champions, most of the top European nations including France, Italy and England struggled in that tournament.
